A custom work shirt is a standard, proven shirt platform — your fabric choice, your colour, your logo, your size chart and your packaging — produced at a program scale where the unit economics actually reward customisation. Below is exactly how a custom shirt order is specified, so you can price your program before you ever send an inquiry.

Step 1 — Choose the base and fabric

Start from the two shirt platforms on the work shirts page (long-sleeve SHIRT-01, short-sleeve SHIRT-02) or the polo bases in the same fabric library (knit tee bases are quoted as development items against your specification). Fabric choices: TC 65/35 at the crisp end, CVC where a cotton-rich hand matters, weights 100–200 GSM by climate. If your crews work hot, the fabric guide explains the Cool Cotton option honestly — including where it is not the right choice.

Step 2 — Fix the logo method

Three methods are in production:

The wash-by-wash comparison is in embroidery vs printing for workwear logos. Send your artwork with the inquiry; placement and scale are checked on the physical sample before any bulk is sewn.

Step 3 — Colours, sizes and details

Custom colours are dyed to your reference (swatch or Pantone) and locked as the program standard for reorders. Size charts can follow our graded run or yours; the sizing guide shows the measurements we need to adopt a buyer's chart without fit surprises. Collars, cuffs, placket buttons, pen pockets and epaulettes are all specifiable details — list them in the inquiry rather than discovering them at sample stage.

Step 4 — Packaging and delivery

Private-label neck labels, individual polybags, hang tags and carton marks are part of the custom program (see also custom workwear for full-range programs and corporate workwear for multi-site rollouts). Timelines: samples in 7 days from a confirmed specification, bulk in 35 days (China) or 90–120 days (Myanmar) plus freight. Minimums are confirmed per style at quotation; at program volumes the embroidery setup and dye-lot costs spread to a per-shirt figure your program can defend.

Two specification patterns that recur

Custom shirt programs generally follow one of two patterns, and naming yours speeds up the quotation. The fleet pattern: one shirt platform, one colour, chest embroidery only, broad size run, price-optimised — typical for logistics, facilities and distribution buyers clothing several hundred wearers. The identity pattern: two colours by role (supervisors distinguished), chest and sleeve embroidery, buyer size chart, private-label packaging — typical for service brands whose uniform is part of the customer experience. Both run on per-style minimums confirmed at quotation and the same 7-day sample window; the identity pattern simply carries more setup, which the sample stage exists to lock down.

Questions buyers ask

Is embroidery or print better for work shirts?

For high-wash programs embroidery is the default for chest logos: a stitched mark has no ink film to crack or peel. Print wins for large back designs and simple marks. The full comparison is on our blog.

Can we approve the logo before production?

The physical sample carries the logo for sign-off before bulk production.

What is the minimum for custom shirts?

Minimums for custom shirts are confirmed per style at quotation stage — the workable figure depends on the fabric, the logo setup and the packaging, which is why it is fixed in the quotation rather than published as one number.

Can you work to our own size chart?

Yes. Send your chart (or measurements per the sizing guide) and grading follows it across the run.
